Kennel and a home for Golden Retrievers

Our kennel is an opened air home-kennel right beside our village house at Gondang, Umbulharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, located on the foot of Mount Merapi. We believe that the fresh air, cool breeze and quiet environment is the best place to breed Golden Retrievers.

Merapi Kennel was established in 2002, began with the lovely and spoiled girl Hilda as our first Golden Retriever. The character of this breed truly amazed and made us fell in love. Then early 2003 we started to breed Golden seriously with the guidance from Mr. Roby Darma Lie (Joscelind Kennel).

After our breathtaking conversation, we finally decided that we are going to breed Golden Retriever based on The Kennel Club (UK) Standard. We found it attractive to see Golden retriever with symmetrical and balanced body, good top-line, domed skull, short muzzle, and strong and muscular feet.

Ben, foundation stud not only for our kennel, but also for others. He brought new trend for Golden Retriever in Jogja. After his debut in Jogja, people started to aware how important bloodline was, and how selected bloodline determines the quality of puppies produced. Nowadays, his offspring are generating Ben's blood. Hope they will pass his "Benhood"  to their offspring....

We realize that it takes so much time, hard work, energy, and, of course money to make our dream comes true. We truly understand we cannot produce good puppies in every litter, but we believe with God's bless, those efforts and sacrifices will come up with good result.

Above all, I would like to thank my parent, and also Mr. Roby Darma Lie for all the support and guidance that make Merapi Kennel grows.
